rcvs accreditation

We are accredited with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) practice standards scheme. The scheme is a voluntary program, run by the RCVS, designed to maintain and promote the highest standards of veterinary care. It aims to give members of the public peace of mind and assurance regarding the facilities, clinical standards, and available skills at a veterinary practice.

In order to qualify, the practice had to undergo rigorous inspections and meet a range of stringent standards set out by the RCVS.

There are three Tiers: Tier 1 (core standards ie basic), Tier 2 (small aninimal, farm animal, or equine) and Tier 3 (veterinary hospitals only).

We are accredited as an RCVS General Practice Tier 2 (Small Animals).

We believe RCVS accreditation to be the minimum standard for all UK veterinary practices to reach. In many areas we exceed the standards required, and we had to make almost no changes to qualify. We would like to see the standards made more stringent in some clinical areas. At the present time, less than half of the veterinary practices in the UK have accredited with the RCVS.
