Rabbits are fast becoming one of the most popular
pets in the UK, with an increasing number of house rabbits being
kept in town, as well as the common garden rabbits. With better
owner education about diet and general care, many of the rabbits
we see nowadays are much older than previously, and a much larger
variety of diseases are being encountered in the geriatric rabbit.
At the practice, we all have a great interest in rabbit husbandry
and medicine. Our patients are hospitalised in a separate exotics
ward away from cats and dogs, and every effort is made to minimise
stress in these sensitive animals.
We are equipped with a digital x-ray machine, ultrasound scanner,
rigid and flexible endoscopy and an on site laboratory. We have
the operating facilities to carry out a variety of surgery including
isoflurane anaesthesia, ventilator and Doppler ultrasound for monitoring
anaesthetics. We are also keen to encourage routine neutering, vaccination
against myxomatosis and VHD, and parasite prevention.
Please speak to any member of the practice for further details.
