Acupuncture has been used for centuries to treat painful conditions such as osteoarthritis, muscle spasms, and spinal pain. Needles are inserted in specific points and interfere with the way pain is transmitted to the central nervous system. Surprisingly the animals tolerate this treatment very well. It is common that during the treatment the patient gets very sleepy and relaxed.
It is a great addition to conventional medical treatment and has no negative side effects.

Herbal medicine is the treatment and prevention of disease using preparation of plant parts and extracts. Veerle usually formulates bespoke preparations that take into account the specific needs of each individual patient. Herbal treatments may be particularly beneficial for conditions where the normal processes of the body are malfunctioning such as inflammatory, degenerative and chronic conditions. They can also help ameliorate the side effects of some conventional treatments, e.g. ongoing anti-inflammatory use.

If you are unsure if your pet would benefit from a consult you could always email us and Veerle can have a look at your pet’s history and email you back.
